Ever come across write-ups with headings like: "things I wish I knew in my 20s" or "skills I would definitely acquire if I were to relive my life"?
The contents of those write-ups usually contain pieces of advice from people who have lived long and unfortunately dissatisfying lives because they realised too late things they should have done while they still had the chance to.
I have come across quite a lot of them in blogs, websites and on Quora. I've also noticed that a couple of them say the same things in just slightly different ways.

෴ Learn how to efficiently manage money
Personally, I find this to be very important because of how unique and flexible money is. You get to use money to sponsor your ideas, invest in profitable ventures, and treat yourself to something nice once in a while.
If you have issues managing money at this point, you'll definitely have a hard time saving as well as earning more money. One thing is certain, you're surely in for a rough one.
Don't be scared though, there's remedy coming through.
It's always advised to create budgets and plans for yourself and watch how easier money management becomes for you as time goes by.
Plus, you will have a better shot at reaching your saving goals in order to buy that sweet pair of shoes you've always wanted!
෴ Learn the basics of food preparation
Now, no one is asking you to become a chef.
No one is even asking you to learn how to create mouthwatering dishes. No!
The point here is to know and master the basics of food preparation. This includes being able to make a decent cup of tea, or knowing how to put together a quick meal like noodles or pasta.
It would go a long way to make stuff easier for you, and as a plus, cooking under normal conditions is pretty much a stress reliever.

If asked to identify someone who:
- is always late
- has a PhD in procrastinating
- has a lot of unfinished projects
-is a pro at forgetting appointments
There's always someone who comes to our minds.
The big question is: Are you that person?
You might not see these things as bad habits. You might treat them as casual "aspects of living", until you lose life changing opportunities as a result of them. The good thing is, you don't have to lose those opportunities before you learn.
You don't have to be a victim, in order to become a life coach!
It's never too late to work towards curbing those habits. One of the most common methods is to have a conscious reward system where you pay attention to the gains and rewards of finishing a task on time, or being early for an event.
For example, finishing that project that's due the next morning before going out with your friends will allow you to stay out all night without worrying about what awaits you at home.
෴ Learn socialization, communication and mannerism
We live in a multicultural environment where you basically meet different people from entirely different backgrounds and social status everywhere you find yourself.
Learning how to socialize while respecting other people's backgrounds and beliefs is a gift that a whole lot of people do not possess.
Knowing that certainly we didn't grow up with same background, norms or societal value will definitely help you become more welcoming and less judgemental. Not to talk of the unnecessary arguments and negative vibes you'll be able to avoid.
෴ Learn how to deal with stress
I usually see stress as a package (of different sizes) mailed to everyone for their handling pleasure. It's always different for every individual.
Now, there are people who seem to have already figured out what to do any time they realise they are stressed, then there are those who do not know when to take a break.
It's such a pity because whatever it is that is being worked on at that point will not yield any result, because—hello?? you have a body to tend to!
Most times, you just need to know how you as an individual can deal with stress and how best to relax and, voila! You're up and running again.

I bet whenever anyone mentions organisation our minds race to being neat and clean; of course, that's a thing. But in this context, that's not what I am talking about.
As first timers in this world, we're prone to making a whole lot of mistakes and making bad decisions. This is perfectly normal. If there's anything everybody should master, it's the act of learning, relearning and unlearning.
Being organized here means having a system that works for you. You don't have to do what everyone else is doing. You just have to know what works for you and how it can be manifested in your life.
I'd like to let you all know that improving your life experience and living a relatively happy life does not just come in a step-by-step process. Making your life better and happier involves steadfastness and dedication towards following up all these points and tips.
You can't just make a schedule, follow it up for one week and then forget about it and still expect to see results. No, it doesn't work that way.
You can start by setting smaller, short term achievable goals for yourself before proceeding to larger long term goals once you've become comfortable with what you have achieved so far. Before you know it, you would have created a lifelong healthy habit!
- The refrain "when one door closes, another opens" is actually an Alexander Graham Bell quote which he followed by saying "but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us".
-"Antisocial" means to go against society, not socialization. Asocial means to go without society, or to be less inclined to socialize.
