The keto diet
The most controversial type of diet ever is the keto diet. While it might work for some, it has side effects as well. The keto diet isn't safe for everyone, especially when executed poorly; however, individuals with or at risk of heart, pancreas, liver, thyroid or gallbladder diseases, pregnant or lactating mothers shouldn't try this diet.

The keto diet is a diet consisting of high-fat, moderate protein and low carbs(carbohydrates).

The mechanism of ketogenesis:
When your body can’t get glucose from your diet, your liver turns body fat and fat from your diet into molecules called ketones, an alternative source of fuel. Ketones impact cholecystokinin (CCK), a hormone which makes you feel full, and ghrelin, the hunger hormone. Ketones increase CCK levels so you're actually satisfied after meals.

Signs you may be practicing ketosis:
-Reduced hunger
-Keto breath- sometimes bad or metallic.
-Weight loss
-Increased ketones in the blood
-Increased ketones in the urine
-Increased focus and energy
-Fatigue
-Decrease in performance

-It's the easiest way of eating less and losing more.
-It improves the bowel movements easing cramps, bloating and irritations.
Less appearance of acne and other skin conditions.
-It improves your cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar level.

Side effects:

My humble opinion:
Does the keto diet work?
Of course it does; however, it is not for everyone. We're all unique in the way our body functions. Most times we dive into conclusions based on testimonies of friends, acquaintance and online reviews. Anything going into our body should be treated meticulously.

Fun facts:
Bird’s saliva is actually an expensive delicacy in China.
Chocolate has been used as a currency in Ancient civilization of Mexico and South America.
